About my quilts

Each quilt is completely individual.  I usually start with one particular fabric that inspires me and this becomes the focus or driving point behind the design of the quilt.  I will initially plan the design out on graph paper and then spend weeks laying the different pieces of fabric out on my bed, photographing them, rearranging them and adding colours in and out until I am happy with the layout. I will then start to cut and stitch, working column by column and then finally piecing it all together.  This normally takes me about a month and then a further two months to quilt.  The end result is usually nothing like my original plan and is always even brighter and bolder than when I started.

A huge thanks goes to my Mum who is always ready to help and advise me and is unstinting in her encouragement and praise for my quilts.  Also to my friend Elanor who brought me back some beautiful fabric from her trip to Africa, despite her busy job, and finally to my sister, Jess, who helps me find the most amazing Aboriginal fabrics bringing them over when she visits from Australia.

All my quilts will fit a standard double bed and the actual measurements for each quilt are listed on the relevant page. The quilts are brilliant for covering up an old sofa or simply snuggling under on a cold winter’s night.

All the quilts are made from 100% cotton fabrics and are approximately 180cm wide and 200cm long. Each quilt is handmade and machine stitched at home in our clean, no-smoking house. However please be aware that they are made in a household with two cats, called Rudy and Tia.

Washing instructions; machine wash cold, delicate cycle, tumble dry on low or line dry.
